So yesterday out of no where Pook tells us she wants to cut her hair. As shocking as it was, it wasn't..she has hinted before, but regardless I am trying to teach her to think on her decisions, so I told her the shop was closed and we had to sleep on it and if when she woke up she still wanted to then we would. So as the day went on I kept asking here and there if she really wanted to and her answer was yes, and she even had the length she wanted to cut it to. I explained to her and Jess (who was so not for the idea) that it is her hair, her decision, and if she did not like it we could grow it back out. I also had taught her that when she was ready to cut her hair we were going to donate it to children less fortunate that do not have hair. Most people would think oh no big deal just a haircut...Not this one...she has NEVER in her 5 years of life had even a trim, so this was a pretty big deal. Long story short, she went to sleep and woke up still wanting to cut her hair. It was such a bittersweet moment to watch my baby grow up right in front of me. You could tell she was nervous, but excited. In the end she absolutely loves it and can't stop playing with it, touching it, brushing it, it was as if she had been liberated with this one hair cut.

Background: she has always wanted her hair long. the decision has always been in her hands as far as length, if it was up to me I would have cut it a long time ago to save time in doing her hair LOL
